The Process

HOW WE DO IT

We are making real animal proteins to capture the essence of meat by harvesting the power of the fastest-growing photosynthetic microorganisms on the planet.

We copy the genes responsible for making a variety of animal proteins (cows, chickens, pigs, fish, etc.) and teach microorganisms how to make them using only CO2 from the air and natural sunlight as feedstock in ultra-low-cost bioreactors. Those key food proteins are then crafted with just the right mix of fats, vitamins, and minerals to replicate the food you love.
